The Spyro series is among the most popular series for the initial Playstation. The Spyro trilogy sold over 20 million games and featured a simple gameplay and entertaining stories that made the game entertaining. After the initial two games the bar was set to be high for the final game. Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon not only did its job, but it also surpassed the previous two games in a variety of ways.
Sound, Graphics and Setting
Spyro 3 follow Spyro who is a young dragon of purple which is celebrating “year of the Dragon” alongside his companions, the dragons. In the course of the celebration, a young sorceress called Bianca is the leader of the army called Rhynocs and steals dragon’s eggs out of the realm of dragons. Spyro pursues Bianca and is eventually taken to an old world that is run by a wicked sorceress. The plot of the game involves Spyro unlocking dragon eggs and fighting the army of the sorceress across different worlds. The story of the game is easy and entertaining and you don’t have to play the previous game to be able to enjoy the next game. It is said that the world can be divided in four different realms and each one has portals that lead to different regions.
The world’s appearance is amazing is stunning, featuring a rich mix of bright colors and stunning detail in every level. The enemies appear terrifying and fierce. Spyro is very attractive and moves effortlessly around the world. The only issue in the graphics are the blocksy textures that appear in some locations. But overall, the story and the graphics blend beautifully and the game provides an immersive experience. Spyro’s music Spyro is simply amazing. Each world features a distinct sound track and this results in the game having an amazing and diverse sound .

Gameplay and Controls:
Controls are in most part identical to the original Spyro games. You move using the direction pad, and, like other PlayStation games at the time, you are able to play with an analog stick. The square button presses Spyro take off with his horns and is useful in situations where you must move quickly. The circle button lets Spyro to breathe fire while the button X permits Spyro to leap, and pressing it twice causes him to glide. The game does an excellent job of making the controls easy to master, and providing a range of methods to utilize the controls.
Alongside these simple control options, Spyro can perform a number of other actions, such as hovering, swimming and climbing. It also comes with numerous minigames that permit Spyro to perform tasks like skateboard or navigate an underwater vessel.
The gameplay is similar to Mario and other platforms where you take control of Spyro and lead Spyro through portals to different realms in which you aid local creatures and gather gems. The gems are valued differently and can be acquired by exploring the game and defeating enemies. Gems can be used to purchase things in the game, from Moneybags, the man who is in the game. When you beat the levels, you release dragon eggs, and progresses the story. The levels in the game are expansive and fun as they are diverse. There’s a ton of interesting and unique gameplay It’s fun to play.

Spyro 3 is definitely a game that you must buy. It’s the top game in the entire trilogy. It features a fantastic gameplay that is complemented by a rich and compelling story, as well as solid graphics.
