R4 DS Slot 1 - Homebrew Game Player For Nintendo DS And Nintendo DS Lite

There are many Nintendo DS Slot 1 Solutions available today. Two of the most popular solutions are the R4 DS Slot 1 solution and M3 DS Simply. It would appear that the M3 DS Simply is the most popular of both. Many online retailers often have out-of-stock items. This little-known fact could allow you to get up and running without worrying about it being out of stock. This is because I have found (and been confirmed by the manufacturers) that the R4 DS simply and the M3 DS Simply almost match each other in terms of features and functions.

The R4 DS Slot 1 and M3 DS are made by the exact same people or the same factory. This means gamers and homebrew fans can now get the R4 DS at a lower price than if they purchased the M3 DS Simply from another shop.

The R4 DS and the M3 DS Simply look exactly the same. Only the packaging and logo on the main screen of your Nintendo DS/DS Lite are different between the two units. Each update is released simultaneously with new features, firmware updates, and functionalities. It seems that all the functions and features in each update are identical. You will get the exact same items, regardless of whether you choose the M3 DS Simply or the R4 DS Slot 1 Solution. Everything you need to load homebrew, games, and applications is in the box.

R4 DS Slot 1 Solution Pack

This is almost a dead giveaway, aside from the fact that it comes in its own R4 DS Box. You’ll be able to see that the contents of this box are exactly the same as the M3 DS. Simply, you get the same light blue keychain/case that came with the M3 DS. Everything you need is included in the box. You get the R4 DS 1 cartridge, a USB microSD Reader / Writer (which allows you to use the microSD as a USB Drive), as well as the keychain case and the software CD.

It is simple to set up the R4 DS

It is easy to set up. The manual is included on the CD and explains exactly what you should do to get your R4 DS to work. First, insert the microSD card (not included – you can purchase this anywhere) into your MicroSD reader/writer and then plug it into any available USB port on the computer. The MicroSD card will appear as a flash drive or portable drive. You have two options. You have two options. One, you can copy the software from a CD. Then, all system files will be placed on the MicroSD card. It is recommended that you visit the R4 DS firmware webpage and download the most recent drivers. They are frequently updated there.

Once your system files have been copied to the micro SD card it is time to start loading the homebrew and games you want to play. This works exactly the same with the M3 DS, there is no difference. Copy and paste files from your computer to the microSD card. Drag and drop is all you need. These games and homebrew apps work without any modification, fixing, or compression. They are as they come, so no need to be modified or compressed.

Once you have copied your system files and any files that you would like to use or play, you can insert your microSD card in the slot at the top of your R4 DS cartridge. The R4 DS Cartridge measures the same as any other Nintendo DS or DS Lite Game Cartridge. It is also the same size as any other Nintendo DS or DS Lite cartridge so it won’t bulge or stick out when it’s inserted into your NDS cartridge slot. The micro SD slot can be found on the top of the R4 DS. It is spring-loaded. Insert the microSD card into the slot by placing the SD label on the opposite side of the R4 DS Cartridge Label. Once you have inserted your MicroSD card into the slot, you will hear a CLICK sound. This is to notify you that it is securely in place and you can turn on your Nintendo DS console. The MicroSD Card fits perfectly against the R4 case.

After you turn on your Nintendo DS Lite or Nintendo DS DS, the system files will be loaded from the R4 DS cartridge in exactly the same manner as they did when you used the M3 DS Simply. The main menu will appear in about 2 seconds. It has the R4 DS logo at the top and the menu at the bottom. You can choose from one of three options on the bottom screen.

1. GAME MENU

When you choose this menu, you will be taken to a list containing all the homebrew applications and game files that you have stored on your microSD cards. To select the file to be loaded, you can use the NDS controller pad. After selecting the game to load, you will be asked to confirm that you wish to save the file. If you wish to save your game, this is necessary. You can save your game files to the microSD card along with your game files. This is great if you need to delete the files later.

2. MULTIMEDIA MENU

Select this option to launch the multimedia player/moonshell. You can view digital photos on your MicroSD Card, listen to or play your MP3 Songs, convert DVD movies with the included software, and read TXT ebooks. This basically turns your Nintendo DS Lite or Nintendo DS Lite into a multi-media entertainment unit.

3. BOOT SLOT 2

This menu option allows your R4 DS too, just like the M3 DS (or M3 DS), to boot the GBA Slot or Slot 2 in your Nintendo DS / DS Lite. This option is for those who want to purchase a GBA Flashcard and run GBA Homebrew applications and games on the Nintendo DS. You can use a GBA Flashcard to boot NDS files. This is possible if you use the R4 DS with PASS ME / PASSCARD.
